Referring Students to WriteAway

Coffee and donuts, scones and tea, AskAway and WriteAway ... some things are just better together!

WriteAway is a BC post-secondary collaborative online writing tutoring service. Undergraduate students at participating institutions can submit draft papers to WriteAway online and receive feedback and strategies to improve their writing from qualified tutors. WriteAway can be a nice complement to AskAway, as students who prefer online services or who are working off-campus can take advantage of online writing support.

When would I refer to WriteAway?

When a student comes to AskAway with a writing question or is looking for feedback on their assignment, consider a referral to WriteAway.

When making a referral, keep in mind when and how WriteAway responds:

  • WriteAway is open during similar term times as AskAway (check their website for exact dates)
  • Assignments can be submitted online 24/7
  • They will be responded to within 48 hours (can be longer at peak times) and in order of submission

WriteAway tutors provide feedback on course-based academic writing assignments keeping in mind the objective of developing the student's academic writing skills. Tutors will refer requests not related to the student's academic career to other service providers.

Who can I refer to WriteAway?

Undergraduate students at participating institutions can submit to WriteAway and receive feedback.
